An exploded view of one part of my final major project. Modelling the internals was actually surprisingly fun! I’ll post a proper image of my major project at some point... now that it’s finished I’m noticing a few things that I wish I had done differently 🤷🏻‍♂️ #industrialdesign #industrialdesignsketch #productphotography #render #fusion360 #studentdesign #productdesign #finalyear

A little bit of the very early form development for my final major project, one of my favourite parts of the process is ideation and quickly mocking up/testing the concepts ✍🏻 #finalyear #industrialdesign #designer #productdesigner #freelance #studentdesign #productdesignsketch #industrialdesignsketch #concept #mockup #bluefoam #concept #ideation

Today I finally finished the physical model for my final major project after weeks of 3D printing, laser cutting, sanding, spray painting etc... I’m very pleased it’s done ✌🏻#productphotography #productdesign #finalyear #industrialdesign #designer #productdesigner #freelance #studentdesign #productdesignsketch #industrialdesignsketch #concept

Here are some images of our recent project Amble, by @jameshoare_id and myself. It’s a dog lead targeted at first time dog owners and has some unique features to improve the safety of both the dog and owner, check out the full project on Behance to learn more (link in my bio)

@jameshoare_id and I recently completed a project which is now on Behance (the link is in my bio) so go and have a look if you’re interested! This is a shot of some of the prototypes produced during the design process. We started with rough card/paper prototypes and gradually moved to more accurate, high fidelity prototypes as we refined the design, more coming soon!

The final portable speaker design. The dock makes it easy to keep charged and the speaker can be lifted and taken anywhere. On the top is an inset section to place a phone when connected. The top also has integrated cable storage to keep wires tidy. Can you guess the brand I was thinking of with the styling?💡

Some of the rough, speedy development sketches for Little Lamp 💡

Some of the rough, speedy development sketches for Little Lamp 💡

This is Little Lamp, a side project. It’s a simple design with a minimal, fun aesthetic. The translucent shade acts as a diffuser, so the lights orientation doesn’t matter, it is diffused evenly in a room creating a soft, ambient glow. I wanted the design to be true to both its materials and it’s construction: the wooden base has a simple gloss finish, the bent metal support is secured in place with exposed screws and the coloured cable feeds directly into the rear of the plastic section (attached to the metal support using the same screws) which houses the bulb💡

Does this count as digital sketching? 🤷🏻‍♂️ The other day I had this idea for a lamp. I knew that I wanted it to be a small form factor lamp with a fun, quirky personality so I sketched a super rough line sketch in my notes. Today I had a free day so decided to work on the idea and see if I could complete the project in a day. More to come soon!

Some lazy Sunday thumbnail sketching. I’ve not posted for a while so thought I’d start doing some side projects ✍🏻

First non-sketch post! I visited my mum this weekend, my younger brother had just got an Oculus Rift and wanted to attach the sensors to his walls, so this is the DIY solution I came up with! Very simple but I kind of like the aesthetic! 📏
