Got to interview someone that has always inspired me 🥺 I spoke with @sel.xo on her latest collection, titled “Exposé,” which takes its name from the fact that each piece is designed to expose at least one part of a woman’s body. One of my favorite quotes from her: “A lot of people know about me, but industry-wise, I feel like I’ve been here for so long that sometimes I do feel excluded. I don’t want to be known as a social media brand, and I’ve been trying to break that barrier for myself. I don’t want to be known as an Instagram boutique. This is high fashion to me.” Link in bio for the full interview ✨

AKONNN AND YOUNGGGG BB 😭
This man right here has been working with Latinx artists long before Latin music became the powerful commercial force that it currently is in the US. Don’t forget about his collab with Zion on “The Way She Moves” in 2007, Tego Calderón on the “I Wanna Love You” remix, and Aventura on “All Up to You” (which also ft. Wisin y Yandel) in 2009. This was well before Latin music had “crossed over” to the Anglo market as thoroughly as it has today. So when I asked @akon why he thinks it took this long for mainstream media to get equipped with música urbana his answer was simple: they still don’t get how important the Latin market is until the impact is actually felt. Full interview + vid in my bio!

I spoke to @iamdanileigh the day after she closed her album. I could tell by the tone of her voice that she was not only satisfied but confident with what she’s about to drop next (expect some fire features). “There are a couple of songs on it that people are going to be like, ‘Oh snap, Dani can really sing — she is going in!’ To me, it sounds like a level up,” she told me. After 16 years, I’m finally back in the motherland. These past couple of days I’ve learned so much about my beautiful country — from the highlands to the inner city — to my parents’ hometown where their love story began. Witnessing this and also being able to celebrate my mother’s “birthweek” in her own barrio is a moment I’ll cherish foreva. 🇵🇪💖
